Two suffer life-threatening injuries in Chatham scooter crash

The Chatham-Kent Police Service is looking for witnesses to a crash over the weekend in Chatham involving a motorized scooter that sent two people to hospital with serious injuries.

On Saturday night, around 10:11 p.m., police got the call concerning a crash at the intersection of Richmond St. and Inshes Ave.

Police report a vehicle driven by a Chatham man, 38, collided with the scooter and its two occupants; two Chatham men, 41 and 28.

The two men on the scooter were rushed to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance before being transferring to Windsor Regional Hospital with what police describe as life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle and his passenger were both unharmed.

Investigators are asking for anyone who may have seen the crash or who has information that may help the investigation to contact police.
