Two men facing several charges after active investigation in Lakeshore

Essex County OPP say two men are facing several charges after failing to stop for police in Lakeshore.

On Oct. 14 at 10:26 a.m., officers attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic infraction around County Road 42 and Lakeshore Road 113 (Renaud Line).

Police say the vehicle failed to stop and was located unoccupied on Lakeshore Road 113, where the two men ran into a field between Lakeshore Road 113 and Lakeshore Road 115, south of County Road 42.

Investigation led to both men being located.

Velman SANTOS, 35-years-old man of Leamington was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act offences:

• Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
• Flight from peace officer
• Speeding 1-49 Km/hr over posted limit
• Driving while under suspension
• Operation while prohibited
• Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of Trafficking
• Disobey order of court
• Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend (two counts)
• Failure to stop for police

Skylar SCOTT, 32, of Leamington was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

• Unauthorized possession of weapon
• Carrying concealed weapon
• Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited or restricted weapon
• Fail to comply with probation order (two counts)
• Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order (four counts)
• Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of Trafficking

Both of the accused were held for a bail hearing.
