A man has been arrested by Windsor police after they said he barricaded himself in a home with a kitchen knife, following a break-and-enter. Just after 8:30 a.m. on Monday, police were called to a break-and-enter in progress at a home in the 1400 block of Ouellette Avenue. Police said just after 8 a.m., a man broke a glass panel on the front door and went into the home. The homeowner wasn’t present at the time but saw the suspect through video surveillance and called police immediately. Officers arrived on scene and found the suspect barricaded inside a bedroom. They said he put furniture in front of the door and tucked a kitchen knife into his waistband. The situation was de-escalated before going into the bedroom and the man was arrested without incident. The 42-year-old man is facing charges of break-and-enter and commit an indictable offense.
