A radar-indicated tornado touched down in the community of Wheatley, Ont., Environment Canada confirms. The weather agency reported just before 5 p.m. Thursday that the Wheatley Provincial Park radar indicated a tornado. A “red” tornado warning issued earlier in the day for the Ontario regions of Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent has since ended. However, as of 5:15 p.m., an “orange” severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect for Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex. A “yellow” heat warning is also in effect for the mentioned areas.
