Colourful floats, musical acts, and a lot of bubbles rolled across Ottawa Street Sunday for the Windsor-Essex Pride Parade. Thousands came, with pride flags at the ready, to find seats along the curb to sit front row for the annual festivities. “Everybody is different, and it’s nice to acknowledge that people don’t have to be afraid of who they are, and I enjoy coming out and supporting everybody,” said Pam, a Windsor resident. Dozens of organizations, businesses, and charities walked the streets, giving out candy, water, stickers, and flags. For Tecumseh’s Karen, each year her family attends the parade with a host of rainbow flags and chairs. “This is a happy time; we should be celebrating all people. We should be celebrating love between people no matter what that looks like,” she said. Starting at Argyle Road, the parade ran down Ottawa to Langlois Avenue, with dozens of colourful floats on the move.
