Victoria has moved up on a list of the most expensive rental markets in the country.

Padmapper, a national apartment search platform, has named the Capital Region the third most expensive market in Canada for the month of September.

Victoria overtook Calgary this month, moving up from fourth place.

Vancouver took the top spot, followed by Toronto.

According to Padmapper, the median price of a one bedroom rental unit in Victoria increased 0.9 per cent to $1,080.

The median price of a two bedroom rental decreased 2.3 per cent to $1,680.
