Two arrested after Saanich drug probe uncovers fentanyl, meth, GHB and stolen goods

A police investigation in Saanich’s Midtown area has led to two arrests and the seizure of suspected drugs and stolen property.

In a news release, Saanich police said officers carried out search warrants on May 15 at a home in the 400-block of Dupplin Road and a storage locker connected to the case.

The investigation followed targeted patrols in the Midtown area and involved the Patrol Division, Street Crime Unit, Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team, Integrated Canine Service and Forensic Identification Section.

According to police, investigators seized around three kilograms of suspected fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine, along with about 10 litres of GHB.

The estimated street value of the drugs is $55,000.

Officers say they also recovered stolen property valued at about $25,000, including heat pumps, air conditioners, generators and lawn mowers. Police say the items will be returned to the owner who has been identified.

Two people were arrested during the operation and later released.

Police say investigators are expected to recommend multiple drug trafficking-related charges to Crown counsel.
