Four teens threaten people in park and plaza

A knife-wielding teen and his accomplices threatened people in the Leacock Drive area Sunday night.

Police were called after 15-year-old and 14-year-old boys were separately threatened by an older teen with a knife in Lampman Lane Park.

The group of teenagers visited the Leacock Drive plaza where police say several items were taken.

When the business owner confronted the group, the same teen brandished a knife and made threats, forcing the owner back into the store.

Police located two suspects nearby, while two others were found a little while later after fleeing into a wooded area.

As a result of the investigation, a 16-year-old Barrie boy is charged with:

• Robbery with violence
• Three counts of assault with weapon
• Theft under $5,000
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Possession of a weapon contrary to a court order
• Failure to comply with sentence

A second 16-year-old boy from Barrie is charged with:

• Theft under $5,000
• Mischief under $5,000
• Failure to comply with undertaking

Additionally, a 13-year-old boy is charged with uttering threats to cause bodily harm, and a 14-year-old boy is charged with theft under $5,000.

The identities of those involved are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
