A man has been charged after police said he broke into a business in Vancouver’s Chinatown neighbourhood on Monday morning. The Vancouver Police Department said its officers were called to a business near Georgia Street and Gore Avenue at around 7 a.m., after an employee reported a man had broken a window and entered through it. Police said they thought the man was still inside after searching the building and reviewing video footage, but witness accounts later helped officers find him on a second-storey fire escape. According to the VPD, 28-year-old Raymond Chan was then arrested without incident and has since been charged with one count of break-and-enter. Chan is scheduled to face the charge in court on Aug. 25.
