An investigation is underway following the discovery of two bodies in central Regina early Tuesday morning. Officers with the Regina Police Service (RPS) were dispatched to the 1100 block of Elphinstone Street at around 4:30 a.m. Police discovered two dead individuals in the area. The scene was secured and personnel from the service’s Major Crimes and Forensic Identification Unit were called in. The death investigation is being operated in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service. Several residents told CTV News they heard gunshots in the area early Tuesday morning. As of 8:30 a.m. RPS is asking residents to avoid the 1100 block of Elphinstone Street. “At this early stage of the investigation there are no further details that will be released to the public,” the service said in the update. “The victims’ names will not be released at this time.” Anyone with information is encouraged to reach out to RPS or RPS Crime Stoppers.
