A child riding their bike to school was struck by a car in Kamloops on Tuesday morning, Mounties say. Kamloops RCMP say they were called to the intersection of Holt Street and Tranquille Road just after 8 a.m. with reports of a child cyclist struck while crossing the street. “The child was riding their bike with their parents and other children heading to school,” said Cpl. Dana Napier, in a statement. The child was transported to hospital via ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. Mounties say the driver remained on scene, co-operated with police, and “was charged under the Motor Vehicle Act.” Kamloops RCMP have asked anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash-camera video to call the detachment at 250-828-3000 and cite file 2026-35221.
