Two people are dead after a crash between a commercial truck and an SUV in Langley Tuesday night. The incident occurred shortly before 10:50 p.m. at the intersection of 256 Street and 16 Avenue, Langley RCMP said in a news release Wednesday. Police, paramedics and firefighters all responded to the scene and provided assistance, police said. “This was a tragic collision that resulted in the loss of two lives,” said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom, in the release. “One person was declared deceased at the scene, and a second person later died in hospital. Investigators continue to examine the factors that contributed to this collision; we are asking any witnesses or anyone with dash camera footage to come forward.” The Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service was deployed, and the collision led to overnight road closures and “significant traffic disruptions,” police said. The affected roads have since reopened. Police asked anyone with information or video to contact them at 604-532-3200 and quote file number 2026-24651.
