A woman is dead following an early morning shooting in Etobicoke, Toronto police say. Officers say they responded to reports of a shooting shortly after 7 a.m. along a residential street in the area of Humberwood and Rexdale boulevards. When officers arrived, they say they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene. There is no word on the age of the victim or what led up to the shooting. Police say the suspect fled before officers arrived. In addition, no suspect description has been released. The Homicide Unit is leading the investigation. As a result, Humberwood Boulevard is closed between Morning Star Drive & Rexdale Boulevard. Anyone with information is asked to come forward and contact police at 416-808-2222.
