Police say they’ve laid additional charges against a man accused of secretly recording a young girl in an east-end Toronto washroom this past summer. In September, police announced that they were investigating the incident, which occurred on Aug. 25 at 4 p.m. inside Kew Gardens near Queen Street East and Lee Avenue. At that time, police said, an 11-year-old girl entered a washroom. The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Toronto resident Hans Martins-Gonzalez was already inside. “As the child went into a bathroom stall, the suspect took photos of her through the gaps in the stall,” police previously said. When the child sought assistance, the suspect fled, according to police. He was arrested six days later and charged with secretly observe/record person expecting privacy. Police said at the time that they believed there may be additional victims. In an update on Thursday, police announced that Martins-Gonzalez was facing additional charges as a result of their investigation. Those include: four counts of possession of property obtained by crime, two counts of mischief under $5,000, and one count of criminal harassment. Investigators did not provide specifics about the events that occurred before those charges were laid. Police are asking anyone with information about the investigation to contact them at 416-808-5500.
