Toronto police investigating after 8 cars set on fire in Scarborough

As many as eight vehicles were set on fire at an auto body shop in Scarborough early Monday morning, officials say.

Toronto Fire said crews were called to a commercial lot near Sheppard Avenue East and McCowan Road at 2:15 a.m.

No injuries were reported and the fire has been extinguished.

In a news release, police said two suspects broke into the business and poured an accelerant onto the vehicles before lighting them on fire.

Police said both suspects were wearing all dark clothing and carrying jerry cans at the time of the incident.
