The Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) is letting the public know a high-risk sex offender is now residing in the city. Police say 42-year-old William Lee Perswain has a history of sexual offences, including violence with weapons, aggravated assault and indecent acts again minors. He’s also considered high-risk to re-offend. A similar warning about Perswain was issued in Manitoba in October 2025, though he’s now relocated to Saskatoon. Perswain is about 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs around 155 pounds, and has short black hair and brown eyes. He also has several tattoos. He faces several restrictions, including not being allowed to attend a public park or swimming area where those under 16 are present, or a daycare, schoolyard, playground or community centre. Perswain also can’t seek, obtain or have any employment or volunteer in any way that involves being in a position of trust or authority towards a person under 16. He can’t contact or communicate with anyone under 16, unless supervised by a person the court considers appropriate, and he also can’t purchase, consume or possess alcohol. “It’s important to note this information is being shared for the purpose of enabling members of the public to take suitable preventative measures, and not to embark upon any form of vigilantism or unreasonable conduct toward this individual,” SPS said in a media release Thursday. Anyone aware of any violations by Perswain is asked to contact police or immediately.
