A former Saskatoon real estate agent facing hate-speech charges and accusations of antisemitism is now representing himself in court.

A former Saskatoon real estate agent facing hate-speech charges is now representing himself in court.

Brandon Taylor Moore, 45, is accused of using social media to promote hatred against Jewish people.

One of his posts, shared on X, features an image of Hitler alongside the text: “Make antisemitism great again.”

Jewish advocacy group B’nai Brith Canada described Moore’s online activity as “vitriolic” and “truly diabolical in nature.”

Moore was initially charged with public incitement of hatred and unsafe storage of a firearm.

He also faces charges of wilfully promoting hatred and wilfully promoting antisemitism by condoning, denying or downplaying the Holocaust.

During a court appearance on Tuesday, Moore’s lawyer was granted permission to withdraw from the file, leaving Moore to represent himself.

The judge granted Moore access to the evidence against him under strict conditions. He is required to keep the material private, use it only for his defence and eventually return it to the Crown.

Moore declined to speak to journalists while leaving Saskatoon Provincial Court on Tuesday.
