A dazzling Christmas display slated for retirement after it lit up a Saanich neighbourhood for nearly 30 years is getting another chance to spread holiday cheer.

Neil and Michelle Salmond decided they were calling it quits after setting up their impressive collection of holiday lights and inflatables on the lawn of their Tuxedo Drive home one last time.

The display started as only three or four knick-knacks nearly three decades ago, but has since grown to include more than 100 pieces of memorabilia.

The Salmonds put the display up on the market recently and a buyer has already stepped forward.

After this year, Merridale Ciderworks will take the toys and lights off the family's hands.

The business intends to recreate the winter wonderland at its property in the Shawnigan Lake area starting next year.
