Regina man $1.1M richer after lotto win

A man from Regina is enjoying a more than $1 million windfall after winning big over the weekend.

According to the Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC), Robert Ripplinger received $1,144,573.86 after winning the grand jackpot on Vault Breaker at Trifon’s Pizza on Broad Street.

“I was shocked, excited and then tears,” Ripplinger told WCLC. “[Afterward] we shut off the phone, sat down to watch hockey and looked at each other and said, ‘What did we do?’”

Shedding a few tears of joy, Ripplinger explained that he intends to gift each of his children $100,000 and invest the rest of the winnings.

The province-wide jackpot has awarded more than $62.5 million to 62 winners since June 2017. Vault Breakers province-wide grand jackpot has now been reset to $500,000.
