For a truck driver in Caledon, heading down the wrong road was enough to get the attention of provincial police. Caledon OPP say it was around noon on Tuesday that officers noticed a commercial truck on a ‘no truck route’ in the area of Mountainview Road and Escarpment Sideroad and initiated a traffic stop. During the interaction, police say officers believed the driver may be impaired by alcohol. Following an impaired driving investigation, the driver, a 33-year-old Brampton man, was charged with operation while impaired and having liquor ready available while controlling a motor vehicle. OPP also charged him with disobeying a sign. The man is due back in court in late September, but in the meantime, he faces a seven day vehicle impoundment and a 90 day licence suspension.
