Victoria police are searching for witnesses of a sex assault that took place in the city's downtown core early Sunday morning.
Police were called to the area of Quadra and View streets after a woman reported a man sexually assaulted her around 12:30 a.m.
He is described as a white man in his 30s, six feet tall with a heavy build and dark beard.
He was wearing a black or blue toque, black or blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
Investigators believe the man and the victim did not know each other, suggesting the woman may have been targeted at random.
