Missing a red bathing suit? Uber releases lists of items forgotten in Ottawa vehicles

Cellphones, wallets, keys and a red bathing suit were some of the things people have left behind in Uber vehicles.

Uber released its 2026 Lost & Found Index on Tuesday, looking at things left behind in Uber vehicles in Ottawa and across Canada.

“Somewhere in Ottawa, a red bathing suit remains at large, earning a spot on the national list of most unique forgotten items in Uber’s 2026 Lost & Found Index, and we’ll leave the context entirely to the imagination,” Uber said.

“The rest of Ottawa’s top 10 is predictably sensible — phones, wallets, headphones, keys — with laptops also making an appearance, which feels right for a city full of government workers and graduate students.”

The top 10 most commonly forgotten things in Ubers in Ottawa last year were:

• phones
• wallet/purse
• backpack/bag/luggage
• headphones
• keys
• articles of clothing
• glasses
• passports
• vapes
• laptops

While Ottawa users left behind lots of things in Uber vehicles, the capital ranked as one of the three least forgetful cities in Canada. Saskatoon was ranked as Canada’s most forgetful city, followed by Windsor, Regina and Victoria.

Uber also released a list of the most unique items lost across Canada:

• 15 lb. frozen turkey in Toronto
• Black electric kids’ scooter with a pink cat helmet in Calgary
• A violin in a hard case in Montreal
• Goalie pads, helmet, stick in Edmonton
• 12 pizzas in Brantford
• One leg from a bed frame and one old smoke alarm in London
• Two humidifiers in Winnipeg
• Turtle shell in Toronto
• Blue wig in Edmonton
• Aquarium fish and supplies in Toronto
• Blackish grey switch blade knife in Regina
• A trophy with a golden star and the name ‘Adam’ on it in Kingston
• A 25 lb. kettlebell in Vancouver

According to Uber, the most forgetful days of the year are Halloween night, November 1, New Year’s Day.
