Kingston resident arrested after break-in at Cataraqui Cemetery

Kingston police have arrested a suspect following a reported break-in at the Cataraqui Cemetery on Thursday.

Police say staff at the cemetery noticed a building did not appear to be secure at around 7 a.m. and found someone had forced their way in. A person was still inside the building when staff entered and ran after being discovered.

Kingston police K9 handler Const. Paquette and his dog named “Juice” began tracking the suspect, and made an arrest at around 7:35 a.m. The police allege a search of the suspect uncovered tools associated with breaking and entering.

A 48-year-old Kingston resident is charged with break and enter with intent, possession of break and enter tools, mischief under $5,000, and breach of probation.
