In what police believe was a targeted attack, three North Bay suspects have been charged with assaulting a victim in a restaurant July 10. Police responded around 11 p.m. to a report of an assault in the restaurant located in the area of Algonquin Avenue and Shirreff Avenue. Victim taken to hospital “One individual was transported to hospital and investigators determined the incident was a targeted assault,” police said in a news release July 21. “Through investigation, three suspects were identified and subsequently arrested.” Male suspects ages 41, 30 and 25 have all been charged in the case. Two are charged with assault causing bodily harm, the third with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence. One was arrested July 12, the second July 17 and the third on July 19. “Violence like this will not be tolerated in our community,” acting deputy chief Jeff Warner said in the news release. “I want to recognize the work of our patrol section in responding quickly, identifying the accused individuals and taking action to hold them accountable. Through their dedication, these individuals have been brought before the courts.”
