Suspended driver behind the wheel during a French River traffic stop: OPP

Ontario Provincial Police say a 39-year-old St. Charles man faces several charges after a traffic stop on Highway 535 in the French River last Thursday.

“The driver was found to be both a suspended and prohibited driver,” police said in a release Monday.

In addition to the suspended and prohibited driving charges, the man was also charged with driving without insurance, operating an unsafe vehicle and for the use of an unauthorized licence plate.

The man’s vehicle was also impounded for 45 days.

The accused is set to make a Sudbury court appearance Sept. 2
