Sudbury woman killed in Hwy. 69 crash Monday morning

A 42-year-old woman from Greater Sudbury was killed early Monday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 69.

In a news release, Ontario Provincial Police said officers responded to a report of a collision around 2:50 a.m.

“The lone driver, a 42-year-old female from Sudbury, was transported to the area hospital with serious life-threatening injuries, who later succumbed to their injuries,” police said.

The southbound lanes at the Highway 17 junction, between the west and eastbound off-ramps, were closed for the investigation but reopened around 10 a.m. Monday.

The investigation is ongoing with help from the OPP technical collision investigation and reconstruction teams to determine the cause of the collision.
