Second person this week dies at Sudbury homeless encampment

Coroner probes second death at Sudbury homeless encampment at Energy Court after a 43-year-old man was found dead Thursday morning. No foul play suspected.

The coroner is investigating a second death this week at a homeless encampment in Sudbury.

Greater Sudbury police say a 43-year-old man died at the Energy Court encampment the morning of March 19.

Emergency crews were called to the site around 10:30 a.m. The coroner’s office is expected to conduct a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.

Police said foul play is not suspected, adding that there’s no indication the death is related to the recent snowstorm in the city.

Another person died at the encampment late Tuesday evening.
