Sault Ste. Marie homicide investigation

Sault police arrest suspect after fatal stabbing Police in Sault Ste. Marie have arrested a suspect after a fatal stabbing in the city Thursday.

Sudbury — Police in Sault Ste. Marie are investigating a homicide, after an altercation in the 0-100 block of Muriel Drive.

Patrol services responded to the call just after 4:30 Thursday afternoon and officers located a victim who had been stabbed.

The victim was taken to hospital and later died as a result of their injuries.

Police say a person has been taken into custody and that the accused and the victim were known to eachother.

There is no threat to public safety, however officers are asking people to avoid the area while an investigation continues.
