A Sault Ste. Marie man, 60, under several probation orders is accused of assaulting a security guard after being asked to leave a business Monday night. Patrol officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Great Northern Road around 6 p.m. after a 911 call was made about an unwanted person, Sault Ste. Marie Police Service said in a news release. “An investigation revealed the accused refused to leave the premises and attempted to strike a security officer,” police said. The man was arrested and charged with assault and three counts of failing to comply with a probation order. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
