Two teens and a 20-year-old from Sudbury are facing criminal charges after a police chase involving a stolen vehicle Sunday. It started shortly after 9:30 a.m. June 15 when officers with the West Parry Sound detachment tried to pull the stolen vehicle over on Highway 400 north, Ontario Provincial Police said. “The vehicle failed to stop from police and continued north on Highway 69,” OPP said. The adult male driver and a 16-year-old from Sudbury were arrested while walking in Markstay around 12:25 p.m. “The (abandoned) vehicle was later located and members from the OPP K9 Unit, emergency response team and OPP aviation assisted with the search for the third person, who was located and arrested late that evening,” police said. The third suspect, 16, is also from Sudbury. Both teens are charged with possession of proceeds from property obtained by crime more than $5,000 and one is additionally charged with obstructing a peace officer. They were released and will appear in court at a later date in Sudbury. The male driver is charged with driving while under suspension, dangerous operation, operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code, flight from a peace officer and possession of property obtained by crime more than $5,000. He was held for bail court and is scheduled to appear in the Sudbury Ontario Court of Justice on Monday.
