A motorcyclist from New Brunswick had his bike impounded after being clocked travelling 152 km/h in northern Ontario over the weekend, police say. It happened June 7 when officers were conducting traffic enforcement focused on motorcycle safety on Highway 11-17 between Nipigon and Schreiber. “Most motorcyclists were compliant in wearing appropriate safety gear and travelling at proper speeds,” Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release Monday. “Although the initiative concluded with one motorcycle being impounded for speeding 152km/h within a posted 90km/h (zone).” The driver, a 54-year-old man, was charged with performing a stunt using excessive speeding of a motor vehicle. His driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days and the motorcycle impounded for two weeks. “Members of the public are urged to report impaired, aggressive or careless driving by calling 911 in emergency situations,” OPP said. “Complaints of impaired, aggressive or careless driving can also be made by calling 1-888-310-1122.”
