Highway 17 between Glenbower Crescent and Bank Street in Wahnapitae has reopened after it was closed for several hours following a fatal collision Thursday evening. Ontario Provincial Police said the crash involved a pickup truck and a motorcycle. “The motorcycle rider, a 20-year-old resident of Wahnapitae, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries,” the OPP said in a news release Friday morning. “The individual later succumbed to their injuries.” The crash took place just after 7 p.m. and the highway was closed for six hours for the investigation. “The investigation remains ongoing,” police said.
