Responding to a call about a person armed with a firearm near a Parry Sound business Monday afternoon, police arrested a GTA man and found $25,000 in cocaine. The complaint about the armed suspect near a Bowes Street establishment came in around 4 p.m. June 9, Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release Tuesday morning. “Officers located and arrested the suspect,” OPP said. In addition to the drugs, officers located a high-capacity magazine and $10,000 in Canadian currency during a search. The 25-year-old from Brampton is now charged with drug trafficking, possession of a prohibited device or ammunition and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime. Members of the West Parry Sound crime and canine units assisted in the investigation. The accused is being held in custody in North Bay and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
