After being tight-lipped all day, Sault Ste. Marie Police Service says it is investigating a murder after a body was found in a Pine Street apartment. Officers were called to the building in the 700 block in the early morning hours of June 19, police said. “Detectives with investigation services have been assigned to the case and are investigating the incident as a homicide,” Sault police said in an update Thursday night. “At this time, investigators believe this was a targeted incident.” Officers remain on the scene as the investigation continues. Detectives and the emergency services unit conducted a grid search and canvassed the area for evidence in and around the area Friday. “Community members are urged to take alternate routes if travelling in the area,” police said. Body found at marina This after a body was found on one of the docks at the Bellevue Marina on Pine Street Wednesday. Police said they are investigating that case as a sudden death and have not indicated any foul play is suspected. Sault police spokesperson Lincoln Louttit told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca on Thursday that the two cases are not believed to be connected. There has been no word on the identities of the two deceased or the suspected causes of death. Missing man On Wednesday, police said they were investigating a missing person case involving 52-year-old Scott Devlin, who was last seen in the block where the body was found at the apartment. Devlin was last seen June 17 around 8:30 a.m. wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, pants and ball cap with a reflective vest. He has three notable tattoos: a panther and the word sinner on one arm and the word saint on the other. There has been no indication the man’s disappearance is related to either investigation.
