16-year-old with no licence stopped going more than 60km/h over limit: OPP

Ontario Provincial Police say a teenage driver from Whitefish faces several charges after being stopped on Regional Road 55 in Greater Sudbury at about 10:50 p.m.

“The vehicle was travelling at a speed of 134 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone,” police said in a release Monday.

As a result of the stop, the 16-year-old was charged with driving without a licence, speeding and stunt driving.

In addition to the charges, the teen received a 30-day driver’s licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.

The motorist is scheduled to appear in court this fall.
