Police investigating stabbing at Walmart in Montreal-North

Police say a person is in hospital after being stabbed inside a Walmart in Montreal-North on Tuesday afternoon.

Montreal police were called to the store near the intersection of Henri-Bourassa and Lacordaire boulevards.

The victim, possibly a minor, was stabbed in the upper body with a “sharp object” during an altercation with three or four other individuals, said police spokesperson Manuel Couture.

The victim, whose age has not been released, was unconscious but breathing when he was sent to hospital with serious injuries.

The suspects fled the scene before officers arrived, Couture said.

No arrests have been made but the investigation is ongoing.
