Defenceman Kaiden Guhle will miss the entire Montreal Canadiens pre-season camp while he recovers from minor surgery on an adductor muscle, which he underwent earlier this summer. The team stated that Guhle still needs four to five weeks to regain full fitness. Guhle scored two goals and recorded nine assists last season. He was limited to 39 games due to injury. Since the start of his career in autumn 2022, Guhle has played in only 208 of the Canadiens’ 328 regular-season matches during that period. He has scored 18 goals and added 51 assists to his tally. The 24-year-old from Alberta has, however, featured in all 24 of the Habs’ play-off games over the past two seasons, recording eight assists. The Habs’ training camp officially got underway on Wednesday with medical examinations. The players will take part in their first on-ice training session on Thursday. The Canadiens will play two pre-season matches simultaneously on Saturday against the Maple Leafs, in Montreal and Toronto, with split squads.
