Warm-up continues this week with sunshine, uncertain shower risk for weekend

Clouds with sunny breaks today; slight risk of showers this evening

Temperatures are starting to come up across the region, cloudy with sunny breaks will continue this afternoon.

CTV News meteorologist Julie Atchison said we’re starting to see a little bit of rainfall develop in through central Michigan, that could hit us as we push towards 6 p.m.

“We do have a slight risk for showers and the possibility of a thunderstorm. Chatham and Windsor will see a little bit of rainfall. The rest of the region will hold on to mainly cloudy with sunny breaks. But that little wave will be coming in,” said Atchison.

Daytime highs are set to warm each day, according to Atchison, we’re into the upper teens tomorrow and sunshine will hold through the rest of the week.

As we head towards the weekend, there is the chance for some showers, with Atchison saying this forecast is not locked in, with lots of uncertainty.

Tuesday: Mainly cloudy. 30 per cent chance of showers late this afternoon with risk of a thunderstorm. Wind south 30 km/h gusting to 50. High 15. UV index 6 or high.

Tuesday night: Partly cloudy with 30 per cent chance of showers this evening. Becoming clear overnight. Risk of a thunderstorm this evening. Low plus 3.

Wednesday: Mainly sunny. High 18. UV index 7 or high.

Thursday: Sunny. High 19.

Friday: A mix of sun and cloud with 30 percent chance of showers. High 16.
