Seasonable sunshine today before unsettled midweek weather moves in

A stretch of mainly sunny and seasonable weather is expected across the London region Monday, though changing conditions through the week will bring higher chances of showers and even a possible thunderstorm.

Sunshine is expected to dominate much of Monday, the daytime high is expected to reach 12 C.

Clear skies are expected Monday night as winds ease, allowing temperatures to dip below freezing. The overnight low is forecast at –2 C, with frost likely and a wind chill making it feel closer to –6.

The weather remains mostly pleasant into Tuesday morning, with sunshine early in the day. However, cloud cover is expected to increase through the afternoon, bringing a 40 per cent chance of showers by late day. There is also a risk of a thunderstorm developing late Tuesday afternoon. The high will be near 13 C.

Showers are expected to persist into Tuesday night, with a mild low of around 10 C.

Midweek conditions turn more unsettled. Wednesday is forecast to be cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a slightly warmer high of 16 C. Cloudy periods with a 40 per cent chance of showers are expected Wednesday night, with temperatures dropping to about 7 C.

A return to brighter conditions is anticipated Thursday, with sunny skies and a high near 16 C. Clear skies will continue into Thursday night with a low of 7 C.
