Pillar Nonprofit Network has always given a helping hand to those organizations that offer a helping hand in the London community. CEO Maureen Cassidy says it provides learning and development programs along with leadership and peer support to many grassroot organizations. “It’s all the things that help strengthen a non-profit organization fundamentally at its roots,” said Cassidy. She says now more than ever non-profit organizations find themselves in a tight spot when it comes to an increase in community needs along with a squeeze on funding. “It’s tough economic times and people are struggling,” said Cassidy. “There is greater need for the services that are provided in the non-profit sector and at the same time the funding is dwindling.” Pillar is marking its 25th anniversary with a new program and fundraiser. It’s all coming together with a breakfast at its King Street location on Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 8 a.m. “We would like to raise $25,000 and we would like to increase our monthly donors by 25,” said Cassidy. Looking ahead to the next quarter century, Cassidy knows they will be around to play an important roll in the community, “We know the reason that Pillar exists is because we are all stronger together and Pillar will always be here to help.”
