London is in for a gray and wet Thursday, with rain and scattered showers expected through the day as temperatures climb well above seasonal, according to CTV News meteorologist Gary Archibald. The high is expected to reach 23 C, about five degrees above the seasonal average of 18 C. The overnight low was 16 C, compared with a typical low of about 7 C. “It is gray, it is wet, but it’s certainly mild above seasonal,” Archibald said. Humidity values are expected to remain around 80 to 85 per cent, with scattered showers and breezy conditions developing. Archibald said a shift in the weather pattern is bringing moisture and rain into Southern Ontario, with a prolonged period of rainfall expected across the region. Areas along the north shore of Lake Erie could receive 15 to 30 millimetres of rain, while some areas farther north could see more than 30 millimetres. In London, showers are expected to continue into Friday morning. Temperatures will be around 12 C Friday morning, with northerly winds of 30 km/h and gusts potentially reaching 40 km/h. Friday will be cooler, with a high near 19 C. Conditions are expected to improve through the afternoon as the winds shift and skies begin to clear.
