The eastbound lanes of Highway 401 at Highway 2 in Woodstock remain closed following a three-vehicle collision involving two commercial motor vehicles and a passenger vehicle early Friday morning. Ontario Provincial Police first reported the closure shortly after 4 a.m. as emergency crews responded to the crash. Police said the driver of the passenger vehicle was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The drivers of the two transport trucks were not injured. Police said one of the transport trucks was fully loaded, and crews are currently unloading its contents so the vehicle can be turned over and removed from the highway. Motorists are being asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes while the cleanup and investigation continue. No timeline has been provided for when the eastbound lanes will reopen.
