A 79-year-old male from Arva, Ont. is dead following a two-vehicle collision Friday in West Perth. Just before 4:00 p.m. the Perth County OPP, along with Perth County Emergency Medical Services, and West Perth Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle collision on Perth Road 163 at the intersection of Perth Line 26. The driver of one vehicle, a 79-year-old male from Arva, suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Perth Road 163 between Line 26 and Line 24 as well as Perth Line 26 between Perth Road 164 and Perth Road 155 were closed while the West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team assisted Perth County OPP with the investigation. All resources have since cleared, and the roads have been reopened. This investigation remains ongoing.
