A 36-year-old Huntsville woman has been charged with impaired driving on an e-scooter. Police say on Friday at around 5:30 p.m., officers responded to an e-scooter crash on Earls Road. When police arrived, they say they discovered the person was impaired and charged them accordingly. The accused is set to appear in court at a later date. According to the OPP, the Town of Huntsville has opted out of the provincial e-scooter pilot program, meaning e-scooters are not allowed on public roads or other areas governed by municipal bylaws. In general, authorities say e-scooter use is mostly contained to private property in Huntsville.
