Some people break out of prison, while others just want to get inside. That was very much the case in Guelph. The Guelph Police Service was contacted Saturday, around 7:30 p.m., by security guards at the former Guelph Correctional Centre on York Road. They said two people were seen on security cameras inside the building. Officers searched the facility but did not find anyone. They did, however, come across an unsecured entrance. It led to a tunnel which connected to the former prison’s basement. Police said they secured that access point. They are still trying to identify the two people seen inside the building. Anyone with information is asked to contact Const. Dan Dipaolo at 519-824-1212, ext. 7808, or email ddipaolo@guelphpolice.ca.
