The Guelph Police Service has arrested a man after a vehicle was found partially stopped in a bike lane. Police say the incident happened Tuesday around 7:30 a.m. near Arkell Road and Gordon Street. Officers located a vehicle stopped diagonally, partially on the road while obstructing a bike lane. The vehicle had no rear bumper and had mounted the curb and grass on one side. When speaking with the driver, officers observed a glass pipe containing suspected drug residue on the driver’s seat. The man then failed a sobriety test and was arrested. Further investigation found the licence plates on the vehicle were not authorized and the driver had no permit or insurance for the vehicle. A 37-year-old Arkell man faces three counts of breaching probation, using plates not authorized for a vehicle, driving with no permit, operating a motor vehicle with no insurance, operating an unsafe vehicle, careless driving, and one count of impaired operation.
