The Windsor Spitfires took control of their second-round OHL playoff series with a decisive 5–1 victory over the Kitchener Rangers on Saturday night at the WFCU Centre. The win gives Windsor a 2–0 advantage as the series shifts to Kitchener.
Windsor set the tone early, netting three goals in the first period. Ryan Abraham opened the scoring at 5:06, followed by Conor Walton at 14:53, and Noah Morneau added a power-play goal at 16:44, marking his 11th goal of the playoffs.
Abraham extended the lead in the second period with his second goal of the night at 9:29. Kitchener’s Luca Romano responded with a shorthanded goal at 18:32, but the Rangers couldn’t close the gap.
In the third period, Liam Greentree sealed the win with a power-play goal at 1:17. Windsor outshot Kitchener 29–17 and capitalized on two of eight power-play opportunities, while Kitchener went 0-for-4.
Goaltender Joey Costanzo made 18 saves for Windsor, allowing just one goal. Kitchener’s Jackson Parsons faced 27 shots, stopping 22.
