One person airlifted to hospital, two others also hurt, in Kressler Road crash

Waterloo Regional Police say three people were hurt in a crash that happened Friday morning, just outside of Waterloo.

One driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries on Friday following a crash on the border between Woolwich and Wellesley Township.

Waterloo Regional Police said, around 9:15 a.m., a Toyota SUV traveling on Kressler Road slowed down to make a left turn onto Erbsville Road.

It was struck from behind by a Chevrolet pickup truck, causing the Chevrolet to roll over onto its side.

Police said the driver of the pickup truck, a 52-year-old man from Wellington County, was taken by Ornge air ambulance to a hospital outside the region.

His injuries were described as serious.

A 17-year-old female, who was a passenger in the same vehicle, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the driver of the SUV was a 52-year-old woman from Waterloo. She also had non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

As of 1 p.m., Kressler Road remained closed between Weimer Line and Benjamin Road, while Erbsville Road was closed from Kressler Road to Bisch Street.
