Driver charged in five-vehicle collision on Highway 6 near Morriston

Police have laid charges in a five-vehicle crash near Morriston that sent one person to hospital and closed a busy road for several hours.

On Monday, the Ontario Provincial Police announced a 27-year-old from Georgetown had been charged with careless driving following the June 16 incident on Highway 6.

The collision happened around 7:30 a.m. and involved two transport trucks and three other vehicles. One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

However, the clean up was extensive as one of the trucks had been carrying a load of dry concrete that spilled out onto the highway.

Highway 6 was closed for several hours and the spill was reported to the Ministry of Environment.
