A Comox Valley mother of four children allegedly abducted by their father to the Middle East has taken her campaign to the Prime Minister’s Office.

Alison Azer met with Justin Trudeau, Opposition leader Rona Ambrose and New Democrat leader Tom Mulcair Tuesday, according to photos posted to the Facebook page “Find Azer Kids Now.”

The Prime Minister's Office confirmed that a private meeting took place between Alison and Trudeau but directed all official inquiries about the situation to the Global Affairs Ministry.

The mother had launched a petition asking Trudeau to “#MakeTheCall” to Iranian president Hassan Rouhani to do whatever is necessary to get her four children, Sharvahn, 11, Rojevan, 9, and sons Dersim, 7, and Meitan, 3, back to Canada.

The petition had been signed more than 3,200 times as of last week.

The children were last seen by Alison in August, when her ex-husband Saren Azer left with them for a European vacation – and never came back.

A man claiming to be Saren recently posted pictures of him with the children to Facebook, saying they were “well, safe and happy at last.”

But Alison called the post a “desperate attempt” by Saren to try to “confuse family, friends and supporters here in Canada.”

She said the RCMP and international policing agencies are aware of the online activity and are monitoring the account accordingly.

She believes the children were taken from war-torn Iraq to Iran by their father.

Alison wants borders to be closed to Saren and ensure when he’s found, he’s deported back to Canada to face charges.
